 The fourth and final trial contest took place on 21 June at Salmon Bay in Ballito in small but good predominantly left hand breaking waves. It was great to have the trials out of town for a change in different surf and clean water.

 As the clouds gathered the day before Trial 3 and with memories of the miserable wet weather of trial 2 still fresh in the memory banks, calls were frantically made to organise shelter on the beach for the judges.

 ....and it rained and poured! The 2nd NKZN trials got off to a late start on Sunday 10 May due to the nasty weather conditions but despite the rain the swell was definately there. Smooth conditions early on with the south west blowing stronger later provided conditions for a successful trial.

 The first trial contest took place on Sunday 19 April in small but clean and contestable conditions at Alkantstrand, Richards Bay. The standard of riding on the day was good despite the lack of swell with the riders making the most of the set waves they could find with longer heat times.

Autumn is here and at Alkantstrand this means epic conditions, cool water, the superbank and the occasional late cyclone swell. It also signals the beginning of the regions annual trial contests to decide who will represent Northern KwaZulu-Natal at this years South African Bodyboarding Champs.

The Northern KwaZulu-Natal Bodyboarding Asscociation are proud to
announce the team for the South African Bodyboarding Championships.
Team NKZNBA hopes to make use of home ground advantage to achieve their
highest ever placing in the Provincial competition rounds at the champs.
