Hundreds of K’s from the ocean, this spot has quite a reputation and is a surfing hotspot in Europe. According to wikipedia, up to 100 surfers per day hit this standing wave in the Eisbach (Ice brook). There is even an annual surfing event there and an active surfing community.
The water temperature never gets above 15° celsius so I doubt the Pit Pilot entered the water. His visit to Europe and his German girlfriend Anna is more of a sightseeing adventure and not a surf trip. Send us more pics Michael or better yet give the icy wave a try.
